Scholarship Opportunities

For students who achieve academic excellence, there are literally hundreds of opportunities to qualify for and receive scholarships to help pay for post-secondary education.

Recent graduating classes at WHS have been awarded nearly 1-million dollars each year to further their education. In particular,

The Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce reports that WHS is among the top schools in the number of MMAC scholarships awarded in recent years. These are full four-year scholarships toward education at Milwaukee area colleges and universities. (Unfortunately, due to budget cuts, this scholarship is no longer available).

Twenty-one students from the Class of 2003 received $1000 WHS Alumni Foundation Scholarships which continues a trend toward larger numbers of scholarships awarded by the WHS Alumni Foundation. WHS is the only high school within Milwaukee Public Schools with such a scholarship program. Students from the Class of 2003 achieved a 3.0 gpa after their first semester of college.

Each year our Guidance Services Department posts several hundred scholarship opportunities for students. A list of scholarships available for 2003-2004 is available.
