| Since
1962 the Washington High School Alumni Scholarship Foundation
has awarded scholarships for post high school education to worthy
graduates. It is the only high school in Milwaukee that has
this kind of foundation. Since its inception, the Foundation
has awarded approximately $150,000 in scholarships.
In June, the Foundation awarded $1000 scholarships to twenty-one
members of the class of 2003. The Foundation Board is committed
to preserving the Foundation's endowment and is working to make
it grow so that it can continue to serve WHS and it s worthy
graduates.
The Foundation's
Purpose:
- To foster
a continuance of the tradition of academic excellence and
achievement at Washington High School.
- To solicit,
raise, collect and earn funds from alumni, friends and associates
of Washington High School.
- To distribute
income and funds from these efforts to worthy programs of
Washington High School that lead to academic success and scholarship
opportunities for students.
