Errika's Reflection Over my last four years of math at Washington High School I've taken Integrated College Preparatory Mathematics (ICP Math). It was really different than what I was used to in Middle School; different in a good way because we didn't just concentrate on a certain subject. We went over every aspect of math unlike in a traditional math class where you concentrate on a certain subject. In ICP Math we worked in groups. If you needed help or had any questions you would just ask your group mates and work together. You could ask the teacher for help after you've asked your group and you all don't Know. Sometimes we did assignments as a whole class. And to test what you've learned in each investigation (besides test or quizzes), we did On Your Owns (OYO'S), a couple of questions that were similar to what you did in your investigation. ICP Math has helped me stay interested in math, because I was a C student in math until I started ICP. Now I'm getting A's and B's because it deals with real life situations. You know we sometimes say "I don't know why I need to know this I'll never use this in real life." Well this shows you how in certain situations you might use math. I know that students are only required to take three years of math, but I thought that a extra year would better prepare me for college so I wouldn't go to college totally clueless. But it also has something to do with having a great teacher. My teacher Mrs. Udovich has a gift of explaining things so you actually understand it, and a couple weeks later you still remember it. I feel that Mrs. Udovich has really prepared me for college. Now I will enter my college math classes knowing instead of wondering. By: Erricka
